Iraq War Facts
Saying the "danger was clear" that the Iraqi regime would provide terrorists with biological, chemical or nuclear weapons, on March 13, 2003 President Bush gave Iraqi President Saddam Hussein 48 hours for him and his sons to leave Iraq before military action begins "at a time of our choosing."
US Army Bases
Since the end of the Cold War a decade ago, the U.S. has gone to war in Iraq, Somalia, Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan. These were humanitarian deployments against the aggression and dictatorship. Since 1990, any U.S. intervention has left behind a string of new U.S. military bases in a region where the U.S. had never before had a foothold.
